Originally from the flatland of Norfolk, Matt soon escaped to the highlands of Scotland, to cut his teeth on the Scottish winter climbing scene there. He then worked full time at Plas Y Brenin in North Wales before qualifying as a BMG Guide. Since then Matt's spent the last few years both winter climbing in Scotland and in the summer season guiding and climbing in the European Alps.
Matts early years of climbing took him from the mountains of Europe to the 1000m walls of California's famous Yosemite Valley. Since then Matt's ventured further afield climbing in Kyrgyzstan, Alaska and Patagonia, where Matts successfully climbed the Franco Argentine route on Fitz Roy. Most recently Matt has enjoyed some fantastic cragging in Morocco’s Anti Atlas.
Matt is known for his friendly easy going nature, and his love of climbing which makes him great company.
When he’s not working in the Alps and Scotland, Matt lives in North Wales with his girlfriend. Luckily she likes climbing to!
