ISM Summer Mountaineering Course Structure / Progression
The table below shows how different courses relate to each other in terms of their (normal) technical standard, and how you can progress in logical, thorough way through our course programme to a level at which you can get full benefit from our most advanced course - Technical Alpin-ISM.
The 'Instruction' courses in the left column are primarily dedicated to teaching skills (always within the context of enjoying fine climbing and mountaineering) and may involve lead climbing, while on our 'Guiding' courses the guide will normally be leading the rope.
All of our couses involve a degree of 'Coaching', which we define as constantly improving and refining your existing climbing skills.
